Get to know Mary Ellen

Mary Ellen Trozzo is the founder and creative director of M.E.Trozzo, Inc., a jewelry design studio in College Park, Maryland. For over 36 years she has specialized in custom designed jewelry and jewelry restoration of pieces produced in gold, platinum, palladium and silver. She is proficient at both traditional and contemporary jewelry techniques, which she integrates into her work and in her classes. Her jewelry designs reflect clean, modern lines with the craftsmanship of the old school.

After graduating from the University of Maryland with a bachelors degree in art, Mary Ellen left the United States to study abroad in Europe. She received a certificate of jewelry design from the Fachhochschule für Gestaltung in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany and produced jewelry for Werkstatt Raymann-Nowak in Spraitbach, Germany.

Mary Ellen Trozzo taught as an adjunct professor at the Corcoran College of Art & Design and at George Washington University in Washington, DC. For 15 years she was an instructor for the jewelry department at the Alexandria Art League in Alexandria, Virginia. She has exhibited and sold her work in Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, and the US.
